A LITTLE GEOGRAPHY!
Situated in the west of the Allier department, formerly the province of Bourbonnais and now part of Auvergne, nestled between the Montluçon region, the Tronçais forest, the Bocage Bourbonnais and the Sioule valley, Commentry/Montmarault/Néris-les-Bains Tourisme is also very close to the Puy-de-Dôme, Creuse and Cher departments.
As a transition between the Combrailles Bourbonnais, the Bocage Bourbonnais and the Val d'Allier, between the langue d'Oc and the langue d'Oil, it benefits from both the rugged landscape of the Combraille to the south, at the gateway to the Massif Central, and the gentle, rounded landscape of the Bocage Bourbonnais to the north: meadows, valleys and "bouchures" (hedgerows).
